BUESCHER Eb ALTO “STENCIL” SAXOPHONE. SILVER PLATED / “VERY NICE” ORIGINAL CONDITION! This Alto Saxophone was made for: THE VEGA COMPANY. PLAYS WELL W/CURRENT (OLDER) PADS. There is something Very interesting about the Neck that Buescher used on this Alto, and here’s why. When the “New” Aristocrat Model Saxophones were produced, Buescher had several “Necks” available for their Altos. The produced one with two stamped on it, and also necks with a 01, 02, or 03. And, I’ve heard of one neck variation stamped with a 1 on it. The Neck accompanying this Alto is stamped with a 3 (See Photos). Many of the published articles I’ve read about the Buesher “Numbered” necks, notes that the “03” Buescher neck is the most desirable; however, there’s no mention of a 3 neck. SERIAL # 9689 – CIRCA 1940’s 75 Plus yrs. I oiled the Keys and softened the Pads, and then took this Very Nice looking Alto to my Techman to replace a couple of broken springs, adjust a couple of keys, and install an new Neck Cork. This Alto plays well with the Older Pads that are currently on it. This Buescher Stencil Alto has. The Front “F” Key. This Buescher Stencil has an Ornate Low B/Bb Key Guard very similar to the early Aristocrat Model Altos. This G# Key on this Alto was styled after the Roller Key for the G # Key that was on Buescher’s Aristocrat model saxophone and their very late True Tone models (those starting around #200,000). The neck on this Alto is a number 3 Neck. I took photos of this Alto outside this afternoon, for the Sun came out (for a short while), and I wanted you to see the overall Very Nice condition of this Vintage Buescher “Stencil” Alto. There are no sings of repair or resoldering; only a slight bend in the Octave Key Lever (See Photos). The Original Case is in Very Good Original condition. A merica n Made.
