Native American Turquoise Mtn. Sterling Silver Stamped Ring SUNSHINE REEVES
Southwestern Native American Indian Kingman turquoise Sterling silver stamped ring size 7.75, signed SUNSHINE REEVES by the Navajo artist, and stamped STERLING. Outstanding ring showcasing a beautiful Kingman stone set in a smooth bezel wrapped in twisted wire. The stone sits on a heavily stamped single band shank with a well crafted applique framing the stone on both sides. This piece weighs approximately 19.5 grams, it’s just over 1 1/4″ tall by 1″ wide. The stone alone is 1 1/8″ by 13/16″. Exceptional stone and stamp work. Note: the truest color of this piece is shown on the last orange colored picture. Please remember that different monitors may change how the color appears to you. Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art. Daniel Sunshine Reeves was born in 1966 in Twin Lakes, New Mexico. Sunshine began his training in silversmithing a bit later in life, at the age of 24. He learned the craft from his brothers David and Gary, both deceased. His half-brothers Andy and Darrell are also active in the craft, and they also learned much from David Reeves, the older brother. Sunshine is a renowned artisan and his deep and often intricate stamp work has won him many accolades. Sunshine may use up to 10 or even 20 different stamps, all handmade, to create the unique patterns found in his pieces. He makes not only jewelry but also boxes, knives, bowls, and candle holders, and his work is collected throughout the world, and exhibited in schools such as Harvard, galleries, and museums in the US such as the Peabody Museum and the Heard Museum. Hes certainly a master of his craft, and has received several awards including Best of Show in 1997 and Best in Class in 1998 at the Santa Fe Indian Market, and the Best of Show at the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial.
