Old Native American Indian petrified wood Sterling silver hand-stamped cuff bracelet, unmarked. But most likely Navajo. The black frills on the stone resemble a forest on the grayish / orange background. Beautiful well-polished piece of petrified wood; very dark. The stone is set in a well-constructed smooth bezel wrapped in a tight twisted wire framed by twisted wire half-moons and raindrops all around. The cabochon sits on a three-tine cuff that merge together mid-shank. A large silver applique with twisted wire leaves and and a raindrop wrapped in twisted wire adorned each side of the cuff, also reinforcing the tines. The cuff is beautifully stamped with Native American motifs from top to bottom. This piece weighs just over 42.5. 1 3/4″ tall, and measures 5 3/8″ around the inside, in the center, end to end. Add 15/16 for the gap. Note: The center tine is cracked on both sides, but since it’s only a half-tine, it does not affect the integrity of the bracelet. The broken points cannot be seeing from the front of the bracelet, they are hidden behind the appliques. The tines were most likely broken by the previous owner attempting to adjust the gap of the cuff. The gap can be adjusted, but it should be done by a jeweler and a warming process.
