Trying to drum up that “vintage vibe” that’s en vogue. Why not get an ORIGINAL 60 year old Zildjian? ! LIKE A LOT LESS!! And this THINNER 22 isn’t trying to emulate ANYTHING ELSE! It’s the ORIGINAL from the early 1950s… A few years after Miles Davis got started. Dizzy Gillespie was huge! None of that “re-issue” business. Posted for your immense pleasure is this LIGHT & wonderfully COMPLEX sounding, Hard to Find Vintage Zildjian 1950s BLOCK LOGO THIN 22 Ride that is in EXCELLENT Condition!! Check out the pictures! NO nicks, cracks, dents, or dings on this 60 year old thinner gem. It’s in GREAT SHAPE with a fantastic patina and a tiny pinch of centerhole wear – because someone PLAYED this beauty back in 1958. This particular 22″ has a LIGHT and COMPLEX vibe – it’s like a 60 year old version of the Zildjian K Custom 22″ Dry Complex Bill Stewart Ride, or the Bosphorus Jeff Hamilton THE HAMMER Ride, that’s the vibe. It’s super warm and has myriad overtones swimming about. It can easily be your Left Side Crash Ride or just a great straight up Main Ride. These 6 decade real deal Zildjians are so much more fun to play than the brand new stuff. There’s no fake, engineered character. It’s real 60 year old character. Below is a soundfile of the exact cymbal for sale. Listen to the soundfile here! Weighing in at a l ovely 2592 grams , this 22 plays like a perfect 1950s Thin to Medium Thin Complex Ride—-it yields a nice, subtle stick attack and the wash has a terrific 50s spread that’s super smooth. It sounds like an old Blue Note record. Classic Vintage Zildjian Hand Hammered wash…. But still with a nice woody attack. The bell rises high off the plain and is strong too. Overall the vibe is that of a big 22 LIGHT RIDE–it has a light, airy, breathiness to it that gives it a golden shimmer–again, it’s complex and has a light brightness to it. And it’d be a great candidate for rivets if you’re so inclined. At 2592 grams it’s thin to medium thin and would make a great Sizzle. When you crash on it it plays like a HUGE 22 Full Crash-thinner than a Crash Ride. Obviously this even sounding Vintage Zildjian 50s BLOCK STAMP 22 Ride is a no brainer for jazz, ballads, blues, trio work, and soul. However the fun does not stop there, its warm wash and smooth vintage vibe will be a welcomed addition for any funk, fusion, folk, indie rock, or mellow pop/rock rig. It makes a great foil for a bright or dry ride. If you want a vintage sound, then go to the source. THIS 60 YEAR OLD ZILDJIAN IS THE SOURCE! And again, this 22 has that Dry Complex thing going on.
