Curtis Platinum Print 1906. An original platinum print by iconic American photographer Edward S. Curtis titled “Preparing for Winter”. The vast majority of his prints, approximately 98%, were printed as photogravures. This is an exceedingly rare platinum print. Curtis created a body of platinum prints, comprising only 1/41/2 of one percent of his extant body of work. It also has the negative number “x1911-06″ printed in the lower left edge. Handwritten on the back is “Preparing for Winter” 1906. The original period pie crust frame has beautiful patina and no damage. Just a bit of dust from years of storage.
