Heavy Navajo Sterling Silver Concho Belt. 8 Conchos + 1 Belt Buckle. 3.02″ X 2.52″. 3.33″ X 2.6″. Please Note About The Size. This is a wide Concho Belt that could better be described as being worn by it “resting on the hips” as opposed to “conforming to the waist”. The new owner of this Concho Belt set will have a waist that is considerably smaller that what is described below. The Black Leather Belt is 46.0″ and is set up for a size 41″ – 43 at the hip. It is 2.8 at its widest for almost the entire length of the Concho set. The narrower belt portion that runs along the reverse anchors each concho and is the primary connection to the Belt Buckle and it also has the adjustment holes in it. It is 1.3 wide. It may not be easily modified to. Accommodate a smaller (or larger) waist by using an additional adjustment hole. Your satisfaction, and a great fit, is essential. 706.6 grams = 22.72 Troy ounces Total Weight. 478.5 grams = 15.42 Troy ounces approximate metal weight. T his large old Navajo Concho Belt features a combination of some almost delicate and also some very deep stamping. The individual Conchas and Buckle are are quite thick and heavy. In the area around the center of each Concha and the Belt Buckle there is a medallion of “Overlay over Repousse”. It is quite dramatic and creates extra thickness! It has very heavy tarnish, is Not hallmarked or stamped “Sterling”, but is is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic. Unfortunately, the maker did not put his hallmark on it. My guess is that this was made prior to 1970, whan that was very common. Please, take a good look at the pictures and magnified photographs to see the rich stampwork. If it is the one for you, I’d love to trade with you today! I will pack this carefully for you so that the conchos do not rub up against each other in transit and it will get to you in the same condition that you see in the pictures. I thank You and look forward to sharing a good experience!
