I bought this R. Ruana skinner knife at a gun shop a couple of decades ago. From what little I’ve researched, this knife was made by Rudy, himself, from a Studebaker leaf spring (his preferred steel until they ran out of Studebakers) before his son-in-law, Vic Hangas came on board. But if you’re reading this, you probably already knew that. Same elk and aluminum handles as always. I believe the sheath is original, as is the sharpening stone. This one has finger grooves and thumb checkering. Feels great in the hand. Should dress a deer very well, as that’s what they were made for. Most people just collect them now. This is beautiful example of the old Rudy-made knives. If you’re not happy, I’m not happy. Let me know if you have questions or need additional photos. We don’t smoke but have pets.
