Look up SINTER first if you don’t know what it is. The first 3 line 110 is a Revere FORGED frame knife with grind lines and adhesive they needed it, the frame wasn’t flat enough. On the First SINTERED 110, early to mid 1975 , You will see unnecessary grind lines on the inside of the frame, the second 3 line sintered knife won’t have grind lines, or any 110s after mid 1975. Because Buck only uses sintered brass on the 110 now. Buck didn’t need to sand and used adhesive on sintered brass 110’s from early to mid 1975 but they did until somehow they found out that the sintered frames were fine the way they got them, and no sanding or adhesive was needed. The blade pivot pin is dead center on a sintered frame 110 plus many other changes were made, blade geometry, rivet placement and the list goes on. You will have a hard time finding data on the transition 3 line knives from Buck you have to find George Stinzel’s data and what is noted by Bill keys long time employee of Buck or BCCI. Joe Houser doesn’t list them. This is a great knife it has a full blade 440C no scratches chips or bends a few very small pits. No blade play or wobble, very strong spring. Perfect Ebony nice closed grain no damage square edges, close match side to side. The brass is in good condition. To get a full set of 3 line 110’s you need a forged frame, a type 1 sintered with grind lines and a type 2, 3 line sintered without grind lines. Leather sheath in poor condition. Tried to picture the inside grind lines. Thanks George God bless. The item “Buck knife 110, RARE 2 pin, 3 line stamp early to mid rare transition” is in sale since Friday, April 06, 2018.
