BIN is for 1 used & as pictured 1930s block font’35’ speed sign in good condition. 18 gauge embossed galvanized steel with glass marble reflectors. All reflect well & aren’t chipped, cracked or smashed. Have minor skid marks on the very tops usually caused by sliding around on things. This was probably somewhere in the southwest due to it’s well preserved dry climate condition. The back side has the shadow of a 4X4 post with some silver post paint slop. These little signs were used under another larger sign such as’Winding Road’, Arrows,’Dip’,’Bump’,’Rough Road’, etc. They state the suggested safe speed for what lay ahead. This 1 has a date of 39 & G stamped into the back, indicating it’s a Grote’Fireball’ size G sign. The back covers were made separately & would fit any Grote sign in that particular size series. Is well built & solid, – just their style. Grote bought out National Colortype Co around 1938 & continued using the Fireball reflectors. Fotos are part of the item description & show Condition.
