We are offering a beautiful set of early hand hammered serving utensils, circa 1940’s crafted by Kenneth Begay, a 9″ four tined sala serving fork and a 9 1/4″ large bowl serving spoon. Both are signed “KB” along with the White Hogan mark and inscribed “Sterling Original”. The fork weighs 88 grams and the spoon weighs 100 grams. In the early years his bold, modern designs were considered so radical that he was excluded from a 1949 exhibition of Native American art. Today his clean, elegant creations are seen in numerous museum collections including The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and the American Museum of Natural History, as well as the Heard Museum. His son, Harvey Begay became another highly regarded jeweler and silversmith. No damage or issues – crisp & clean! Normal light wear commensurate with age. There are some very light surface scratches that could be easily buffed out. Please study the photos as they are a part of the description. Fresh out of an estate and offered here for the first time. We do not falsify claim forms. The item “Signed Kenneth Begay White Hogan Navajo c1940s Stamped Sterling Silver Salad Set” is in sale since Thursday, March 09, 2017.
