This anvil is a Hay Budden Blacksmith Anvil with a scrap yard weight being 141 lbs. We used a wire brush to expose the serial number and from what my eyes can see all I can read are the digits 11729 so this information would date this anvil to the year 1894. According to Richard Postman’s book Anvils in America this would date my anvil to the year 1894. Please any and all questions and opinions are fine to send to me I would appreciate any and all feedback. I have used Fastenal before our local store is great to work with. I will use a strap to secure the anvil to the pallet. I did my research and according to the book Anvils in America by Richard Postman this anvil with the serial number 11729 dates back to the year 1894. The digits are all clearly visible the areas before the serial and after the digits are all clearly visible with no parts of digits anywhere to be seen other than 11729. So this anvil is the real deal a beautiful piece of American History. I have measurements the horn itself is 8 long. The face is 4″ wide and 15″ long. Overall length is approximately 25 inches. The base is 9 1/4″ x 10″ with the height being 11. I had pictures from my cell showing the scale of the anvil which I just posted. Have any ideas or suggestions please don’t hesitate message me I will be glad to answer any and all questions. The anvil weighs 141 lbs. Based on the scrap yard scale! The item “U. S.
