It is my understanding there are some very rare ones and some very common as his collection spanned from about 1940 until the early 1950s. Unfortunately he passed away before he gave me any real information about these and they have just been stored for about the last 30 plus years. Please contact me with any questions and I will do my best to answer or find an answer for you, I plan to part with a limited number of the stamps likely at varying intervals. The stamps/envelope covers I’m offering here are addressed to my great-great-grandfather who died in 1910, I’m sure that’s where the oldest stamps in the collection originally came from. As you can see the 3 cent George Washington stamp (green) doesn’t appear to be postmarked at all and the date/year is handwritten on it as 1871, in my opinion it’s in very good condition. The 1 cent Benjamin Franklin (ultramarine) has a mostly illegible postmark but otherwise seems in fair to good condition. Again, please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to see more photos. Thank you for looking. This item is in the category “Stamps\United States\19th Century: Used”.
