This is a gorgeous concho belt by silversmith Vincent Platero. Platero is one of the most well-known Native American silversmiths. According to my research, he uses traditional Navajo patterns that his mother wove into rugs as inspiration for his jewelry. This belt features 16 hand-stamped conchos with vintage rug designs. Each concho measures 1 1/2″ by 13/16″. There is one large “centerpiece” for the buckle which measures 3 1/4″ by 1 1/2″. The conchos are linked together with small, silver rings. This entire belt is composed of 180 grams of sterling silver. It measures 42 1/4 in total length. The buckle is marked on the back “VJP Sterling”. This is in great condition overall with only light signs of age and use. There are some small spots of patina. There are tiny surface scratches or spots of wear, but I see nothing else of significance to report. Please see pictures for more details. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
