Offered – Antique letter lot featuring 114 letters all sent from Wilmington, DE. 58 of the letters are stampless folded without envelopes, 7 are stampless letters with envelopes and another 47 are stamped in envelopes. The letters appear to mostly be from a woman in Wilmington to a woman in Buckingham, PA. From what I observed the letters are very well written, the author clearly took great care when penning the notes. I read a handful of the letters and the content seems to be regular for the times. There are a good handful of letters from the Civil War era included. Age – 1830’s – 1860’s. Condition – Envelopes are G-EX, some discolorations, most were very neatly opened, the letters are mostly excellent from what I observed, most are written very clearly and remain in fresh condition.
