This cymbal is a true rarity. The weight weight is a mere 2275 grams. So you might expect this to result in a washy cymbal but just the opposite is true here; this one plays on the dry side. Not too dry but just enough, and also dark sounding too. How often can you find a combination like this in an old Avedis? You may find this combination of sound qualities amongst the old K. Zildjians, but in an Avedis they are exrememly uncommon. And in addition to this, the stick definition that it carries is especially good which is also very rarely seen in such a thin cymbal. Zildjian 22 large stamp. There previously was an edge crack which was bonded with silver flux, so the integrity is preserved, with no chance of any future problems. This cymbal’s era is what I consider to be the most desirable of the 3 large stamps; this being the thin letter version without the dots. These are almost identical to their earlier counterparts; the transitionals both in sound as well as manufacturing characteristics; which in my opinion makes these cymbals the most desirable of all the large stamps.
