For your consideration is an imperforate US Stamp Scott #8A, Type IIIa Blue, Position 29R4; from Plate #4, issued 1857. The stamp is genuine & used. Stamp is accompanied by a Doporto Franklin Plating Archive Certificate which states: Genuine, United States 1c 1851, Scott 8A, Type IIIa, Used, Black Circular Town Cancel, C Relief from Plate 4, Position 29R4. Cut in at right, scuffed bottom curved line below C of CENT. Please note that the cert reads the issue date 1851, which is true for Plate #1. This stamp is from Plate #4; stamps from Plate #4 were actually issued 1857. There is a tiny black speck on the back, looks like a dot of ink(doesn’t detract from the front). Stamp is attractive; w/ deep blue color & lighter cancel. Decent centering for the issue, w/ mostly generous margins.
